Petrofac Training Services (PTS) has become the first emergency response provider in Aberdeen to receive prestigious International Organisation for Standardisation (ISO) accreditation for its business continuity structure.
This formal, globally recognised accreditation demonstrates that PTS has the means and facilities to offer resilience and continuity in any possible workplace incident, including fire, flood or power outage.
To achieve ISO 22301 accreditation, the Emergency Response Service Centre (ERSC) in Aberdeen underwent a thorough audit, demonstrating that it could continue to provide a dedicated onshore emergency response capability to its customers even in the event of an unforeseen incident.
PTS’s ERSC workforce has been trained to meet the ISO standard, and weekly discussions ensure that specialised skills are passed through the company and knowledge is shared.
In 2006, PTS opened the first shared emergency response centre dedicated to the oil and gas industry in Aberdeen. Eight years on, PTS continues to break new ground in emergency response capability in the North Sea. The ERSC business continuity plan will act as a future benchmark to ensure that a global standard is met wherever the PTS name is found across the world.
