Petrobras produces the first oil of Tupi

Petrobras in Tupi

Petrobras will celebrate the lifting of the first oil extracted from the Santos Basin’s Pre-Salt Pole and the beginning of the development of the Tupi field on May 01, 2009 with two ceremonies, one held on board platform vessel FPSO BW Cidade de São Vicente, scheduled to begin at 10am, while the other, at Marina da Glória (Rio de Janeiro), at 4pm.

Petrobras’ president and CEO, José Sergio Gabrielli, company directors, and representatives of the partner companies in the exploratory block (BG and Galp Energia) will attend the event on board.

The President of the Republic, Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva, will participate in the event at Marina da Glória.
