Ocean Signal Ltd has been acquired by Drew Marine Ltd. The business will operate as a unit of ACR Electronics, Inc. (ACR).
Combining two of the most highly experienced electronic engineering teams in the marine communication industry, ACR and Ocean Signal now have the in-house capabilities to develop the next generation of survival products for the marine, land, military and aviation markets.
Ocean Signal Managing Director Alan Wrigley said: “This is an exciting time for Ocean Signal and ACR. This combination will allow Ocean Signal to expand its capabilities and together we will redefine safety and survival technology in order to save more lives around the world – which is the objective we are all working towards.”
Founded in 2008, research and development-based Ocean Signal’s rapid success has been driven by its meticulous design and development program and ground-breaking range of easy to use, compact products. It recently launched the award-winning rescueME MOB1 and rescueME EDF1 Electronic Distress Flare to add to its established portfolio of rescueME and SafeSea products.
Strengthening the products lines available for the commercial, leisure and fishing sectors of the marine market place, the combined ACR and Ocean Signal brands now offer a full range of Emergency Position Indicating Radio Beacons, Personal Locator Beacons, Search and Rescue Transponders, AIS Man Overboard Beacons, VHF radios, Searchlights, rescue strobe lights, pyrotechnics and safety accessories.
