Norsafe, global life-saving marine systems manufacturer, is offering a specialised “Train the Trainer” course in lifesaving appliances (LSA) aimed at instructors and trainers working in nautical schools and training centres.
The course covers operational and maintenance training on freefall lifeboat systems; conventional lifeboats covering davits, winches and hook systems; and rescue boat systems.
Training takes place at Norsafe’s world class training facility at Rosendal, Norway, and will include accident evaluation procedures and updates on IMO and EU regulations.
“A trainer or teacher at a maritime school or training centre should know the latest information in LSA. This is particularly true regarding freefall lifeboats which have gone through major design changes in the last ten years,” says Michael Røssland, VP Norsafe Academy.
“Our course gives hands-on experience using the latest equipment. This will give trainers the confidence to pass on this knowledge when conducting their own training sessions. Furthermore, Norsafe will issue all participants, that have successfully completed this course, with documentary proof of their LSA competence,” he adds. “Train the Trainer” courses will be available from May 2017.
