Wood Group has appointed Raymond Schlaff to the positions of senior vice president and chief procurement officer, with responsibility for procurement strategies, processes and governance, and to drive efficiencies across the Group’s global supply chain.
Mr Schlaff has more than 30 years of procurement experience with industry leaders such as NALCO, Owens Illiniois, Tyco, GE and Dupont, working in the US, UK, Norway and the Netherlands and served most recently as senior vice president and group chief procurement officer for National Grid in London and Boston. His experience includes embedding leading industry methodologies to streamline processes and transforming procurement and supply chain functions into strategically aligned global teams.
“Ray has an outstanding record in supply chain management. His experience in driving efficiencies across supply chain functions, combined with his understanding of global markets, will serve Wood Group well during this dynamic time,” states David Kemp, chief financial officer. “Wood Group continues to focus on reducing costs and improving efficiencies, and Ray’s strong leadership will help to ensure success.”
Mr Schlaff has served on the board of directors of General Chemical Corporation and is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Procurement and Supply (CIPS). He earned a Bachelor of Science in business administration from Arizona State University.
