Specialist decommissioning firm Strategic Decom and business intelligence consultancy Animus have joined forces to create an intuitive technology platform to facilitate better collaboration in the decommissioning industry.
“Collaboration is touted as the remedy for much that ails our industry but the practicalities of developing meaningful partnerships are hugely underestimated,” explains Strategic Decom managing director, Richard Heard.
“Decommissioning presents an exceptional opportunity for the brightest minds to pioneer and shape a critical international specialism. But we need the right data, at the right time, to make the right strategic decisions. To date, data is stored in silos or in impenetrable spread sheets. We have taken a visionary approach with our new portal: DecomIntelligence.”
“Our focus has been on generating industry insight – not just gathering information. At the heart of our project are big questions: what do we need to know to make the best strategic decisions? How can we better penetrate and interrogate the available data to generate the shared solutions our industry desperately needs?” adds Heard.
Peter Taylor, Animus director, says, “True collaboration demands creative thinking. Our partnership proves this, as does the product we have created. We have taken the insight lost in tens of thousands of lines of spreadsheet data and made it visual, intuitive, even beautiful. Our interactive maps, searchable graphical data sheets and technology tracker combine in one elegant online application. Now the best engineering minds, asset owners, regulators and financiers can generate essential insight with a few clicks.”
“DecomIntelligence is the first application of our platform in the oil and gas industry but our technology is equally at home in finance or defence industries. The applications are limitless,” concludes Taylor.
