Max Petroleum Plc resumed production from the Zhana Makat field after receiving approval of its gas utilisation plan by the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources and obtaining gas flaring permits from the local regulatory authorities for the calendar years ending 31 December 2007 and 2008, respectively.
Jim Jeffs, Executive Chairman, commented, ”Our personnel in Kazakhstan did an outstanding job bringing Zhana Makat back onto production within two weeks of being shut-in, working diligently with the regulatory authorities during an extremely busy holiday season to obtain the requisite approvals.”
