Intergraph® Process, Power & Marine, part of Hexagon and provider of enterprise engineering software to the process, power and marine industries, has announced the release of Intergraph TANK™ 2016, the newest version of its complete solution for the design, analysis and evaluation of storage tanks.
TANK enables the analysis of storage tanks to several American Petroleum Institute (API) standards. The latest version supports the new API 620 code. As a design standard, TANK is able to analyse higher pressure tanks than API 650. Addressing customer requests to support this code, the API 620 support includes nozzle calculations, material database and insulation on roofs. TANK also includes enhanced API 650 code functionality, other calculation enhancements and stainless steel materials.
Output to .VUE files is now supported, allowing SmartPlant® Enterprise users to import TANK models quickly and easily into the SmartPlant design environment. .VUE file creation from TANK is direct and simple. Users can model and analyse in TANK, export to .VUE, and insert their design into Intergraph Smart™ 3D or SmartPlant Review with no additional software required. This ability releases the CAD operator from modelling equipment, saving project time and cost.
Numerous user interface improvements are provided, such as easier navigation to the material properties or material database. Current material is highlighted when navigating to the material database and the roof angle can be calculated automatically.
The new version of TANK offers cleaner output reports, reorganised output and tables in output. A News Feed Page offers all the latest software news at a glance. When reviewing calculated results, users can easily scroll to warnings and errors using the F7 and F8 keys.
TANK provides users with fast and accurate designs for new tanks and evaluation of existing tanks. The menu-driven interface of TANK allows for the quick definition of input and functions for the accurate analysis of oil storage tanks to API standards.
The software performs calculations in accordance with the latest API Standards 620, 650 and 653. Analysis can also take into account wind, seismic and settlement conditions, plus calculate air venting requirements to API 2000 Section 4.3.
Rick Allen, president of Intergraph CADWorx® & Analysis Solutions, says, “For years, our customers have saved time with our advanced analysis tools. With the addition of API 620 analysis capabilities, TANK continues to help our users experience greater confidence and flexibility in their calculations.”
