FoundOcean has achieved two new certifications, the Health and Safety certification, OHSAS 18001, and the Environmental standard, ISO 14001.
OHSAS 18001 accreditation is awarded to companies who are able to demonstrate that they are managed efficiently and responsibly, and can provide a dependable service without unnecessary downtime caused by work-related ill-health, injury and incidents. FoundOcean has made the disciplines of health and safety an integral part of its management function.
Managing director Jim Bell says: “For us to have this accreditation demonstrates that we are able to reduce project risk for ourselves and our clients – that’s the most important factor for us. The standard enables us to identify and control our health and safety risks consistently, reduce the potential for accidents, as well as aid legislative compliance and improve our overall performance.
“We’re also committed to helping to protect the environment. We recognise that due to the nature of our work, our operations can have an affect on the environment - but we believe that with thought and consideration this can be minimised. We’re proud of the ISO 14001 certification of our Environmental Management System.”
