Jura Energy Corporation announced that drilling has commenced at the Ayesha-1 in the Badin IV South block located in the Lower Indus Basin of Pakistan. The projected depth of the exploratory well is 2,400 meters, which will target the hydrocarbon potential of the Upper Sands of the Lower Goru formation of Cretaceous age.
The Badin IV South Block covers an area of 1,265 km² and is located adjacent to several producing oil and gas fields.
Jura holds a 27.5% working interest in the Badin IV South Block, which is operated by Petroleum Exploration (Private) Limited.
