JGC wins EPCC contract for LNG complex expansion project in Malaysia

JGC Corporation, as a part of a consortium with JGC Group company, JGC Malaysia, has been awarded a contract by PETRONAS LNG 9 Sdn. Bhd.(PL9SB), a wholly-owned subsidiary of PETRONAS.

PETRONAS is Malaysia’s fully integrated oil and gas company. This engineering, procurement, construction and commissioning (EPCC) contract award is part of the expansion of the PETRONAS’ LNG Complex (PLC) in Bintulu, Sarawak, Malaysia.

The contract, valued at approximately 60 billion yen, calls for the EPCC work associated with expansion of LNG storage and shipping facilities at the PLC. The PLC is one of the world’s largest LNG production facilities and currently has eight production trains with a combined capacity of 25.7 million tonnes per annum (MPTA).
