Intervention & Coiled Tubing Association (ICoTA) has presented its sought-after European Chapter Innovation Award to Oilenco’s Soak Sleeve and Syringe technology in recognition of the company’s application of technical innovation.

Picking up the trophy at the SPE/ICoTA European Well Intervention Conference in Aberdeen, the company was acknowledged as the leading innovators in well intervention technology over the course of the past year.

The winning technology, a system that provides means of precisely placing a concentrated chemical descaling solution across a downhole safety valve, represents a significant step forward on previous solutions to the same problem with many additional benefits.

Managing Director at Oilenco, Warren Ackroyd, said: “This new technology has many advantages over existing technology and other scale removal methods with perhaps the biggest being the significant cost savings to inventory of equipment required to carry out the intervention compared to others.”
