As of 9 pm Sunday, 23rd December (Sydney DST) Gumamela-1 exploration well was drilling ahead at a depth of 556 metres. 9-5/8" diameter casing was last week set to a depth of 107.36 metres.

The lithology has been almost completely marl (calcareous, fine grained lithology - good seal). Hydrocarbon shows have been recorded. The forward program is to drill to the next casing point at a proposed depth of approximately 750 metres.

Once reaching this depth a suite of open hole electric logs will be acquired before setting 7 inch casing. Once these operations have been completed and hydrocarbon shows evaluated the well will be drilled ahead to evaluate the hydrocarbon bearing potential of the primary objective, a Miocene Age Cebu Limestone reef.
