Ferguson will be showcasing its material handling solutions at Abu Dhabi’s ADIPEC in November.
The company is well represented in the Gulf States with bases in Dubai and Abu Dhabi. From there they supply tanks, baskets, waste skips and other offshore DNV 2.7-1 containers to the offshore energy industry.
Emile Bado, Ferguson’s Regional Manager Middle East and North Africa, said,“Moving goods to and from a vessel carries inherent risks. Using appropriate cargo carrying units (CCU’s) protects the cargo and because it is efficiently packed, it significantly reduces the number of lifts on and off the vessel. We will be at ADIPEC to discuss with anyone who regularly sends goods offshore, how we can reduce the risks for them.”
Best practice material handling is vitally important for the busy quaysides of the Gulf. Each lift to or from a vessel increases the risk to the vessel, the cargo and the people nearby. Lowering the number of lifts, by using an appropriate CCU, therefore reduces the risks to all.
