Petroleum and Energy Minister Odd Roger Enoksen today officially opened the new 2/4 M platform at the Ekofisk field.

“This is my first trip offshore as Petroleum and Energy Minister, and so it is extra special that I get to visit the most meaningful field on the Norwegian Continental Shelf,” said Odd Roger Enoksen in connection with the opening of the new 2/4 M platform.

“It’s a pleasure that a new phase of the development of Ekofisk is under way. Ekofisk Growth project, with the new 2/4 platform, is the base for increased exploration and the extended lifespan for the field. That the partners have planned to maintain the production from Ekofisk until 2050 shows that the field not only has a history out of the ordinary but also a promising long future – for the benefit and use for the Norwegian society,” said Petroleum and Energy Minister Enoksen.
