Fairmount tugs deliver FPSO Cidade de Anchieta in Brazil

FPSO Cidade de Anchieta

Fairmount Marine’s super tugs Fairmount Glacier and Fairmount Summit have delivered FPSO Cidade de Anchieta in the Baleia Azul Field, offshore Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.

Both tugs have towed the Cidade de Anchieta from Singapore to Brazil with a record breaking average speed of 8.4 knots.

After mobilization the Fairmount Class tugs Fairmount Glacier and Fairmount Summit hooked up with the Cidade de Anchieta, which hadunderwent a fast track upgrading at a shipyard in Singapore. The convoy set sail on June 15 for the 9,500 miles voyage. En route only one bunker stop was made in Cape Town, South Africa.

Fairmount Glacier, the lead tug, and Fairmount Summit delivered the Cidade de Anchieta in the Baleia Azul Field in the early morning of August 2.
