Employees at the Aberdeen base of international oilfield service company Expro have dug deep to win this year’s activitymix Corporate Decathlon Charity Challenge in Aberdeen.
The well flow management specialists raised more than £3,000 for Cash for Kids, which supports local children’s groups, organisations and projects throughout the north east of Scotland.
The decathlon encourages teams and their supporters to raise as much money as possible for the charity, through participation in the year-long, corporate sports tournament. A total of 37 companies took part in this year’s contest.
Among the events organised by Expro’s Aberdeen team were a five-a-side football tournament, a loose change challenge, sponsorship of employees in a local 10K running event, a bring-a-pound-to-work day, and a tombola, stalls and face-painting at this year’s activitymix decathlon Shell Highland Games at Hazlehead.
Julie Geddes, Expro’s UK area human resources manager, said: “This is a fantastic achievement and a real example of the team spirit within the company. I would like to thank everyone for their support and kind donations throughout the year. Cash for Kids is an extremely worthwhile charity, which makes a huge difference to the lives of young people in this area and we are proud to be able to support this cause.
“The company is already preparing for next year’s events when we hope to make it a double win and exceed this year’s total.”
Lisa Douglas, activitymix regional director said: “Expro joined the decathlon for the first time this year and it was fantastic to see how they used their imagination in a variety of fundraising events.”
