Essar Energy plc, the India-focused integrated energy company, has been informed by its major shareholder, Essar Global Fund Limited (EGFL), that EGFL intends to ensure that Essar Energy plc meets the FTSE UK Index Series minimum free float requirement of 25 per cent through a private sale of its shares in Essar Energy plc.
EGFL believes that the shares of Essar Energy represent exceptional value and will therefore only sell such minimum number of its shares in the company to enable Essar Energy plc to meet the minimum free float requirement.
