Eni signs with Nigeria LNG

Eni has started production from Kizomba C Project – Mondo field, located deepwater at some 145 km off the coast of Angola.

The Kizomba C Project includes the development of the Mondo, Saxi and Batuque fields, located in the Block 15 at a water depth of some 800 meters, through two floating production, storage and offloading (FPSO) vessels and a total of 36 subsea wells.

Eni has a 20% stake in the project through its subsidiary Eni Angola. The other partners involved are Esso Exploration Angola (Block 15) Limited (Operator, 40%), BP Exploration (Angola) Limited (26.67%) and StatoilHydro Angola (13.33%).

The oil start-up from the Mondo field will add 100,000 boe/day of peak production capacity to the existing Block 15 production.

The Saxi and Batuque fields are targeted to begin production in 2008, through the second FPSO of the project, and will add a further 100,000 boe/day of peak production capacity to the existing Block 15 production, to reach a total of 200,000 barrel a day from the three fields.

The start of production of these fields further strengthens Eni’s position in Angola where it has been present since 1980 and has an average equity production of some 135,000 boe/day, of which about 55,000 comes from Block 15.
