EnCore hires drilling rig for UK North Sea block 210/29a

EnCore Oil plc declares that a well on the Bowstring East prospect (also known as 'Cladhan') has spud.

The Sedco 704 semi-submersible rig is drilling the well which is located in UK North Sea block 210/29a. EnCore has a 16.6 per cent. equity interest in the licence.

Graham Doré, Exploration Director said,"This prospect fits into the higher-risk high-reward end of our portfolio. Bowstring East is an Upper Jurassic stratigraphic trap, which, if successful, could contain significant volumes of light oil. Drilling is expected to take 35 to 40 days depending on any operational and weather constraints that may be encountered."
