Electromagnetic Geoservices ASA (EMGS) has launched a major multi-client 3D EM campaign ahead of the 21st licensing round in Norway. This is a continuation of the highly successful Barents Sea project in 2008, which was the world's first large-scale multi-client 3D EM survey.
Carl Hutchins, EMGS president multi-client group, stated, "EMGS now offers significantly improved imaging and integration tools, and our purpose-built 3D EM vessels mean that we can cost-effectively deliver densely sampled regional coverage for the 21st licensing round.
"The 3D EM program will reveal valuable information related to the prospectivity of the survey areas. This will give bidders a competitive advantage during the licensing round, and will help to target their exploration resources more effectively."
