Electromagnetic Geoservices ASA (EMGS) has been awarded a contract worth USD 7.5 million to provide 3D electromagnetic (EM) data acquisition, processing and interpretation services for a repeat customer. The survey is expected to commence in the third quarter of 2010, subject to vessel availability.
This is the second part of a global 3D EM campaign for a major oil company, the first part of which was a Caribbean contract announced in mid-December.
Roar Bekker, EMGS chief executive officer, commented: "This major oil company has become one of the world's leading users of 3D EM technology, and is applying our technology strategically as an integrated part of its exploration programme and workflow. We look forward to developing this longstanding customer relationship further and continuing to deliver high-quality data and, consequently, adding value to their exploration processes."
