Electromagnetic Geoservices ASA (EMGS) has signed a contract worth in excess of $ 7 million with Rocksource to provide data acquisition services for a number of areas on the Norwegian continental shelf, ahead of Norway's 21st and APA 2010 exploration licensing rounds. It is expected that the revenues will be recognised in the first half of 2010.
Roar Bekker, EMGS chief executive officer, commented: "We are delighted to yet again be given the opportunity to provide services in support of Rocksource's EM-based exploration and the company's position as a leader in the application of EM technology."
The surveys will be performed using the purpose-built vessel BOA Thalassa and will start immediately after completion of the ongoing joint Fugro - EMGS multi-client project in the Norwegian Sea, which was announced in mid-January.
