ELA Container Offshore GmbH delivered an Offshore Living Quarter to Netherlands based SeaMar Services BV in Den Helder. The container was placed on board the Offshore Support Vessel SeaMar Splendid and provided extra accommodation for subsea work in the North Sea. “We decided to hire an A60 ELA Offshore Living Quarter with DNV 2.7-2 offshore certification as SeaMar standards demands quality and all rental of additional high critical equipment need to comply to all local and international legislation on- and offshore,” says Sybrand Spijksma, Technical Superintendent at SeaMar Services BV.
The SeaMar Group has a long term experience in agency, logistics and management services, and as ship owners offers an all-round service package for the offshore and shipping industry. SeaMar Services BV provides a wide range of logistics and management services, such as vessel management, project management, crew management, vessel brokerage, logistics support and purchasing, vessel agency services for vessels visiting Den Helder, IJmuiden or any other port in the Netherlands, customs formalities, stevedoring, warehousing and forwarding.
SeaMar Shipping BV was launched in 2001 to expand their service package being a ship owner. For instance the multipurpose offshore support vessel SeaMar Splendid can be utilised for diving support, survey and seismic support work. The operational management of the well-known Walk to Work Vessel Acta Orion, the flagship of Den Helder based company Acta Marine, is also carried out by SeaMar Services.
“Our standard 20-foot offshore living quarter turned out to be the perfect solution on the deck space they had on board. We provided SeaMar with all the necessary documents and technical information so they could discuss with Class to get their approval, make the necessary preparations on board and plan the mobilization well ahead,” explains Frank ter Haak, Business Development Manager Netherlands at ELA Container Offshore GmbH.
“So by the time SeaMar received the green light for the project the container was placed on board immediately. With ELA we found a reliable and flexible partner that was able to provide the ideal container immediately and on time. Quick delivery is always very important for us, as you know in the offshore industry sometimes you have to move fast, very fast,” summarizes Sybrand Spyksma.
“To be able to promise and realize an on-time delivery to our clients, we start producing new containers for our rental fleet as soon as stock is low. So keep a buffer stock at all times. In the meantime we also have used containers on stock that we can offer to our clients at very attractive rates,” says Managing Director of ELA Container Offshore GmbH, Hans Gatzemeier.
