The Energy Industries Council (EIC) says that AMEC with technology partner DAI has won the EIC Award for Supply Chain Excellence 2014. The EIC Award for Supply Chain Excellence recognises an EIC member organisation that has demonstrated superiority within the energy supply chain and the AMEC team beat tough competition from over 22 excellent submissions from EIC members. The award was presented by the EIC’s Honorary President, Lord Howell of Guildford, at the EIC National Dinner on 16 October 2014, in front of 550 EIC members and guests at the Natural History Museum in London.
AMEC and DAI’s “Track and Trace” product (which uses cutting edge industry leading tracking technology) offered a compelling case to win the competition. It offers an exceptionally valuable product development which will substantively help operators drive waste and inefficiency out of their logistics and materials management activities for onshore and offshore operations and across their supply chains. The EIC judging panel considered AMEC’s Track and Trace product a great example of cost leadership, streamlining and efficiency drive essential to help deal with the unprecedented challenges facing the UK upstream oil & gas sector as highlighted in Sir Ian Woods’ recent report.
