DONG Energy expands its UK offshore wind portfolio-Spotlight

DONG Energy has decided to build and operate the 30 MW Storrun wind farm.

The wind farm is located in the Municipality of Krokom in Jämtland in Sweden, and the total investment is expected to come to DKK 275 million.

Storrun wind farm, which will consist of 12 Nordex 2.5 MW wind turbines, is scheduled to commence production at the end of 2009.

"The decision to build Storrun wind farm is part of DONG Energy's strategy to expand within renewable energy in Northern Europe," says DONG Energy CEO Anders Eldrup.

Borevind AB has a time-limited option to buy into the Storrun project by subscription of new shares equivalent to a 20% ownership interest. If Borevind AB takes up this option, it is under obligation to fund 20% of the remaining financing requirement.
