Dolphin, in a partnership with TGS, will commence acquisition of a new 3D multi-client survey, Olho de Boi, covering 5,000 km2 offshore Brazil.
The survey is designed to image pre-salt plays in the hydrocarbon rich Campos Basin and is located northeast of the Pão de Açúcar discovery in an area of similar structural and stratigraphic characteristics.
The seismic data will be acquired by the Sanco Swift, with her high 3D seismic capacity well known to our project partner TGS. The Vessel is presently entering into Brazilian waters and will commence operations imminently based on the recent Brazilian clearance inspections and IBAMA licenses obtained.
"The Campos survey will be Dolphin's first 3D survey in Brazil, naturally following our 2D survey acquired two years ago. Based on a considerable geologic review, the survey has been placed over a highly prospective area in the Campos Basin. Together with our project partner, TGS, we expect this 3D survey will be of high interest to the industry for future lease round activities." commented Atle Jacobsen, CEO.
