FMC Technologies Chosen to Supply Subsea Systems for BP’s Greater Plutonio Project in Block 18, Offshore Angola-Spotlight

FMC Technologies, Inc. (NYSE: FTI) announced today that its FMC Kongsberg Subsea AS unit has been chosen to supply subsea systems and related services for the BP-operated Greater Plutonio Project in Block 18, offshore Angola. The value of the initial contract related to this project is approximately $270 million in revenue.

FMC Technologies’ scope of supply for the entire Greater Plutonio project is expected to include 45 subsea trees and associated structures, manifolds and production control systems, as well as connection systems for flowlines and umbilicals. FMC Technologies also will supply technical services related to installation and startup. The supply of equipment and services will be supported by FMC Kongsberg Subsea’s operations in Angola. Deliveries will be completed over a multi-year period and are scheduled to commence in early 2005.

“Our supply of subsea systems for the Greater Plutonio project will involve local content, an expansion of our Angolan facilities, local employment opportunities and a technical training program,” said Peter D. Kinnear, Executive Vice President – FMC Technologies. “We appreciate the opportunity afforded us by BP and Sonangol, the Angolan national oil company, to provide technologically advanced subsea systems for this important project.”
