Continental Resources, Inc. declares the appointment of Brian Engel to serve as Vice President of Public Affairs for the Oklahoma-based oil and natural gas exploration and production company.

Mr. Engel comes to Continental with over 13 years experience in oil and gas public affairs. Most recently he served for six years as Manager of Public Affairs for Devon Energy Corp. During Mr. Engel's tenure, he helped lead Devon's award-winning community outreach program. Prior to his work with Devon, Mr. Engel served as Director of Public Affairs for Mitchell Energy & Development Corp.

Mr. Engel serves on the Boards of the Oklahoma Energy Resources Board and Urban Neighbors of Oklahoma City and is a member of the Interstate Oil and Gas Compact Commission and the Rotary Club of Oklahoma City. He is a graduate of the University of Toledo (Ohio), cum laude, University Honors Program and also of Northwestern University's Kellogg Graduate School of Management.
