Mærsk Innovator-2

ConocoPhillips has received consent to use Mærsk Innovator for drilling of water injection wells on Ekofisk.

The consent applies to drilling of eight injection wells on Ekofisk 2/4 VA. The wells will replace the existing 2/4 W injection wells which are to be closed down by 2011.

The eight 2/4 VA wells will be drilled using a subsea template, subsea wellhead and subsea well control equipment.

According to the application for consent the drilling activity will take place from April 2009 to the end of 2011.

Mærsk Innovator is a mobile facility (jack-up) operated by Maersk Drilling Norge. The facility was built by Hyundai in 2003. The length of the legs is 205 m and the facility can operate in up to 150 m water depth.

Mærsk Innovator received an Acknowledgement of Compliance (AoC) in May 2003.
