ConocoPhillips has exercised its option for further work on Ekofisk. The option is for 18 months and was signed on 17th December 2008. It covers drilling activities on four fixed platforms and well service support.
“We see this as declaration of trust by ConocoPhillips and an indication that the customer is satisfied with our delivery. On Ekofisk during the past year, we have delivered wells on schedule and have attained good HSE results. This shows that we have a very competent crew and that everyone in the organisation has been pulling in the right direction,” says COO Roald Soltveit.
As part of the contract extension, Odfjell Drilling will increase the use of IO and organise an Onshore Support Centre for the ConocoPhillips operations. Some administrative duties will be transfered ashore and maintenance and operational planning will be strengthened. We will also strengthen our continuous improvement process through closer follow-up of offshore activities.
