The Gas Turbine Services division of international energy services company John Wood Group has been awarded a term maintenance contract by Delta Energy for service and maintenance of three Solar Taurus 60 gas turbine generators at the Kruiningen Power Station in Zeeland, The Netherlands.

Delta, which owns and operates the power plant within Lamb Weston Meijer's power station, required an independent service provider like Wood Group to offer cost-effective and flexible maintenance solutions for their Solar. gas turbines. The initial maintenance contract is for a period of 18 months, with the option to extend the contract for 10 years commencing in 2010, and is valued at $7million.

Graham McKirdy, Regional Sales Director for Wood Group Gas Turbine Services, said, "This is a significant win for Wood Group as it represents our first contract in Europe for Solar. Turbines within a Turbomach package. We believe this will be a catalyst for further work in the European market."
