Petrobras total production of oil and natural gas in April stood at 2.72 million barrels of oil equivalent per day (boed), including 2.60 million boed produced in Brazil and 120,000 boed produced abroad.

Average domestic oil production was 2.10 million barrels per day (bpd), a 1% drop compared to March. This was mainly due to the ongoing scheduled stoppage on platform P-37 in the Marlim field, and to a scheduled stoppage on platform P-43 in the Campos Basin’s Barracuda and Caratinga fields.

In April, domestic production of natural gas, excluding the LNG, was 78.5 million m3/d, 1% up on the previous month, mainly due to the resumed operation of FPSO Cidade de Angra dos Reis (Santos Basin) after a maintenance stoppage.

In April, production of oil and natural gas managed by Petrobras (wholly owned and partner shares) in the pre-salt layer stood at 1.50 million boed, steady against the previous month’s figure.

Compared to April 2016, production rose by 50%, mainly due to production startup on FPSO Cidade de Saquarema and FPSO Cidade de Caraguatatuba, in addition to the growth in output from FPSOs Cidade de Maricá, Cidade de Paraty and Cidade de Itaguaí.

In April, oil production in foreign fields was 64,000 bpd, 3% down on the previous month. Natural gas production stood at 9.6 million m3/d, 12% down on the March 2017 figure. This was mainly due to well testing in the Lucius and Hadrian South fields (USA), in addition to a drop in Petrobras production in Bolivia.
