LNT Marine Pte., Ltd. was established in June of this year as the result of a merger between LNG New Technologies Pte., Ltd. and MGI Thermo Pte., Ltd. The LNT A-BOX®, an IMO type A containment system for LNG and other liquefied gasses, is the collaborative effort of the two companies.
LNT Marine now joins innovative LNG tank system design with a full range of marine insulation for tanks, cargo holds and pipes, enabling the company to act as a one-stop-shop for IMO type A and type C LNG containment systems and fuel tanks, as well as solutions for other cold temperature cargoes.
“During our cooperation on the LNT45 project, it became clear that in order to continue optimising the design and further reduce the cost of our LNT A-BOX® system, core competencies needed to be integrated under one roof,” says LNT Marine CEO Stein Foss. The LNT45 project is a 45,000 m3 LNG carrier based on the LNT A-BOX® containment system being built for Saga LNG Shipping at China Merchants Heavy Industry (Jiangsu) Co. in Haimen, China. “Now we can provide our customers with a more comprehensive containment system offering, in a simpler and more attractive structure for our clients and partners.”
In combining the capabilities and services of the two companies, LNT Marine will:
- Continue to invent and develop new technologies in order to provide optimised and cost competitive marine LNG solutions to our partners and clients.
- Be a turnkey supplier, providing design and engineering, system supply, technical support, and installation services, all based on its proprietary technologies.
- Focus on growing the market share of the LNT A-BOX® containment system across the size spectrum, from small-scale solutions for fuel tanks and bunker vessels to large-scale applications for floating units.
- Focus on driving the development of the emerging mid-size LNG segment, where a lack of robust and cost-effective solutions has impeded market growth.
The multinational team behind LNT Marine’s technologies, products and services has unique industry experience, and individual team members have been among the pioneers within their fields. With decades of unparalleled experience within different types of gas carriers and other cold cargoes, the LNT Marine team bridges Nordic shipping innovations and Asian shipbuilding capabilities to provide the market with integrated and optimised solutions.
