Koch Supply & Trading (KS&T) has announced that it has completed the sale of its Rotterdam refinery to Vitol. In late April, Vitol agreed to acquire the 85,000 barrels per day refinery for an undisclosed sum.
“KS&T remains an active participant in the global refined products markets,” says Frans Pettinga president of Koch Supply & Trading. “Since acquiring the refinery in 1998, KS&T has grown the business into the largest naphtha producer in NW Europe. We expect to maintain many of the customer relationships developed during this time.”
“The refinery has developed into a flexible trading platform and we would like to thank the Rotterdam employees for their hard work and contributions,” adds Brian Roos, senior vice president of operations for Koch Supply & Trading. “The team should be very proud of the attractive business they have built within a challenging macro environment.”
The refinery was acquired in a stock deal by Vitol subsidiary Vitol Refining Group B.V. All staff based at the refinery have transferred to Vitol.
Simmons & Company International, Energy Specialists of Piper Jaffray, served as exclusive financial advisor to Koch Supply & Trading on the transaction.
