The European Chapter of the Intervention & Coiled Tubing Association (ICoTA Europe) has started its 2017/2018 season with the appointment of a new committee Chair.
NOV’s Technical Sales Manager for Europe, Africa and CIS, Steve Moir, has taken over the role from previous Chair Elliot Kinch, and will drive the committee forward in their aim to improve communication and promote the value of well intervention solutions within the oil and gas industry.
With over 21 years of oil and gas industry under his belt, Steve has a vast amount of offshore experience in well intervention and completions, as well as knowledge and understanding of fluid analysis, dst, welltest and the subsea sector.
Playing a key role within the ICoTA Europe committee for the past five years, Moir has seen first-hand the importance of collaboration and innovation within the industry: “I’m delighted to take on the role of ICoTA Europe Chair for 2017-18. In my opinion, and from my experiences travelling, we are very fortunate to be in one of the best areas for innovative ideas to emerge and take their first steps into the intervention arena. The requirement for cost effective innovation, diversification and collaboration has never been stronger. This is where ICoTA can help, by providing a platform for sharing knowledge, information and for networking, which should benefit everyone who works in our industry.”
“In my role as Chair, I am going to build on the success of recent months where we have encouraged greater co-operation and collaboration between operators and service companies, as well as maximised opportunities to work alongside other not-for-profit organisations in the industry. 2017 will present its own challenges, but by working closely with the committee, other societies, operators and service companies, we can continue to deliver on our mission statement and deliver valuable learning opportunities to the industry,” adds Moir.
