Drydocks World, the marine, onshore and offshore service provider to the oil, gas and renewable energy sectors has achieved a five-star grading from a recent Five Star Occupational Health and Safety Audit conducted by the British Safety Council for the year 2017.

The yard underwent a detailed, quantified and objective evaluation of all occupational health and safety management systems. The audit measured performance against a number of key best practice indicators, and achieved the highest available rating. The British Safety Council’s Five Star Occupational Health and Safety Audit provide organisations with a worldwide benchmark of their safety management systems against current best practices to enable continual improvement. The audit specification was revised in 2016 to include five best practice indicators – leadership, stakeholder engagement, risk management, organisational health and safety culture and continual improvement – which are continually assessed throughout the audit process.

Mohammad Rizal, Chief Operating Officer at Drydocks World says, “Drydocks World has been audited by the British Safety Council for the past 15 years and has been able to pass with a high rate of compliance every time, reflecting the yard’s commitment to the highest safety standards and operating systems. Drydocks World puts top priority on the safety and security of its employees and environment. We are very proud of the safety record achieved over the past years, which helped raise our standards for more challenging goals going forward. Drydocks World scored an excellent rate of 97.47%, which is one of the highest ratings in the world. We take pride in all of our global projects which have undoubtedly enabled us to be a world-renowned shipyard with excellent safety standards.”
