Shipping and energy-services firm the Craig Group said its exports to Norway have doubled in a year and are about to double again, prompting Group interest in entering the Nordic country by acquisition.
Managing director Douglas Craig said the Norwegian market has yet to peak, with several large projects in need of products: “In the past, Norway has traditionally been a difficult market to penetrate but this is gradually changing,” Craig said in a statement.
With exploration and production accelerating in the Nordic country, sales of sub-sea survey gear were on the rise. The ROV business is booming, with sales to all the major sub-sea contractors.
A statement said 20 percent of its business will come from North Sea neighbour Norway by 2007.
The mobile inspection unit of another division, ChainCo, is busy with Norway-sector chain inspection and certification services for most of the major rig owners and the operators.
