SWIM™ from offshore to onshore (illustration: 4Subsea)
4Subsea has been awarded the wellhead integrity monitoring contract for Odfjell Drilling on the Deepsea Stavanger drilling operations on Wintershall’s Maria field development.
The scope of work includes monitoring six wells with an option of further two wells. The monitoring system will be installed and prepared for operation in March and the monitoring campaign will start when Deepsea Stavanger commences drilling operations on the Maria field, anticipated to last for 12-18 months.
The installed SWIM™ (Subsea Wellhead Integrity Monitoring) system is 4Subsea’s solution for integrity monitoring of subsea wellheads while drilling. Results from the monitoring can be presented on a web page/digital platform, facilitating integrated operations, as onshore wellhead specialists can support decision making during the drilling campaign. No extra personnel are required on the vessel while drilling. 4Subsea’s SWIM™ solution is used for cost reduction and risk management.
“We are proud that Odfjell Drilling has selected us as their partner for wellhead integrity monitoring during the Maria drilling campaign”, says Peter Jenkins, CEO of 4Subsea. “We aim to deliver robust and easy to use solutions that enable our customers to reduce both risk and operational costs.”
