On October 12, the array lateral logging tool independently developed by CNPC Well Logging Company was successfully put to use at two production wells at Changqing Oilfield, obtaining high quality logging information. CNPC becomes the second company after Schlumberger in the world to master the array lateral logging technology, which can effectively identify layers as thin as 0.3 meter.

CNPC Well Logging Company has practiced array lateral logging tests at more than 30 wells in Changqing, Tuha, Jilin and Huabei oilfields, and achieved first-trial success rate of 100%. The test results indicate that the detect characteristics of array lateral logging are in line with the numerical simulation results, and the consistency, repeatability and reliability of the logging tool have met the design requirement, accurately reflecting the invasive properties of the permeable zones.
