Clayton Williams Energy, Inc. announced that Mel G. Riggs has succeeded Clayton W. Williams, Jr. as President of the Company, effective immediately. In his capacity as President, Mr. Riggs will be responsible for the general supervision, direction and control of the day to day business and affairs of the Company.
'Mel has been with the Company for over 30 years, and I have full confidence in his ability to successfully lead our company through a challenging commodity price environment,' said Clayton W. Williams, Jr., Chairman and CEO of the Company. Mr. Riggs has been with the Company since 1984, serving as Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer since 2010 and previously Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer since 1991.
