Brinx Resources Ltd. reports the completion of the KC 80 #1-11 well at the Three Sands Project in Noble County, Oklahoma. The initial results from the upper Mississippian, the lowest of three potential pays zones, yielded production rates of almost 200 barrels of oil on the first 24-hour test.
The well has since been choked with approximately 100 psi of back pressure applied to reduce the production rate to approximately 100 barrels of oil per day and 100 mcf of natural gas. The KC 80 #1-11 was drilled to a depth of 4720 feet and had been surveyed with radiation and electrical logs.
The primary target for the well is the upper Mississippian Limestone and Chat Formation. These formations have produced significant amounts of oil and gas from a number of recently drilled oil and gas wells located near the KC 80 drill site. The KC 80's well logs indicated significant thickness of Chat and upper Mississippi Limestone with good porosity, permeability, and hydrocarbon shows. Only the upper Mississippian has been completed and the Chat and several other potential pay zones remain behind the pipe and have not been tested.
The Three Sands Project is located in the Three Sands Field that was localized by a balded structure where a combination of structure and erosion produced the prolific field. Pay zones in the project range from the Arbuckle to the Pennsylvanian and the have been produced over a 4000-foot interval that starts at less than one thousand feet from the surface. In addition to the Mississippian Limestone and Chat Formation, additional potentially productive zones in the Red Fork and Oswego Limestone may exist. Both of these zones lie above the targeted intervals.
A recent 3-D seismic survey on the Three Sands Project was used to determine this drill location as well as a number of other potential drill locations, all with multiple potential pay zones. Brinx has a 40% working interest in the Three Sands Project and in the KC 80 well. The project now has three wells producing oil and gas and one well producing natural gas.
