Breitling Oil and Gas has spud the Breitling-Big Tex #3 in Nueces County, Texas as it continues to develop its "Gulf Coast Onshore Initiative" that began in May 2010.
The Big Tex prospect is an 8,200-foot (2,499 meters) well to test the Pflueger sand series, numerous stratigraphic Pflueger sands, and a relatively unexplored deeper 8,200-foot (2,499 meters) Lower Frio sand section in the Big Caesar field. The Big Tex prospect is actually in the middle of the Big Caesar Stratton field complex which produced 35 million barrels of oil, and 65 billion cubic feet of gas primarily from the Pflueger sand series.
Management anticipates the well will reach total depth in about nine days. Well completion and testing on the Breitling-Big Tex #3 well should begin during the last week of November 2012.
