BJ Services (Australia) Pty Ltd has been awarded a US$80 million dollar contract by Chevron Australia Pty Ltd to provide pipeline precommissioning services associated with the construction of the Gorgon Project, located off the coast of Western Australia.
BJ Services anticipates that the contract will create 30 new jobs in Perth, Western Australia, to support the project during the next three years.
The Gorgon Project involves the development of the Jansz and Gorgon fields located approximately 130km to 200km off the northwest coast of Western Australia. The project consists of subsea facilities, offshore and onshore pipelines and umbilicals tied back to an LNG processing facility on Barrow Island (BWI).
The Chevron-operated Gorgon Project is a joint venture of the Australian subsidiaries of Chevron (approximately 47 percent), ExxonMobil (25 percent) and Shell (25 percent), Osaka Gas (1.25 percent), Tokyo Gas (one percent) and Chubu Electric (0.417 percent
