BJ Services secured a contract to deliver casing, tubular and drillstring running services by RIPSA, an affiliate of Repsol YPF. Operations will be carried out offshore Spain. BJ is supporting the three-year contract, which features two one-year options to renew, from its base in Den Helder, The Netherlands, and has commenced operations on the Casablanca platform.
Since 2007, BJ Services has successfully performed a number of projects on Repsol's RIPSA production facilities in the Mediterranean Sea, including casing and tubing running services as part of its remedial workover services. The company has also supplied coiled tubing completions, nitrogen pumping, acid-solvent stimulations completion retrievals and acid tunnelling services.
"The recent contract award from Repsol is a testament to the quality of service and performance that we have provided them during the past two years," said Kenny Watt, BJ Services, tubular and completion assembly services vice president. "We welcome the opportunity to provide these services for the RIPSA operations, and look forward to delivering personal, professional services to them for years to come," he added.
