BJ Services Company says that Ryan Elder has been appointed business development manager-Middle East and Russia for the company’s tubular and completion assembly service line.

In his new role, Elder oversees all aspects of Tubular Services’ business development initiatives throughout the Middle East and Russia from the group’s base in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. He is responsible for implementation and monitoring of all sales and marketing strategies. Elder works with a dedicated sales and marketing team that is tasked with cultivating relationships with new prospects, and maintaining positive relations with existing customers. As head of the Tubular Services sales force in the region, Elder serves as a team mentor and is directly responsible for its ongoing development.

With 23 years experience gained while working offshore and onshore, Elder brings a broad knowledge of the oil and gas industry, with particular emphasis on casing and tubing running. Before joining BJ Services in l989, Elder worked as a technician for a tubular services company in Aberdeen. Since then, he has worked offshore in the UK and various overseas locations. Prior to this promotion, Elder worked in sales and operations for Tubular Services in Aberdeen.

Originally from Aberdeen, Elder is based in Dubai and reports to Gary Young, area manager - Middle East and Russia for Tubular Services.
