BG Group declares Board retirement

Paul Collins - BG Group

BG Group says that Paul Collins, a non-executive director, will retire from the Board with effect from 31 December 2008.

BG Group Chairman, Sir Robert Wilson said: "I would like to express the Board's sincerest thanks to Paul for his support and advice over the past eight years. He has been on the Board during a period of great change in BG Group and has made an important contribution to the Company's success."

Paul Collins joined the Board of BG Group plc on 23 October 2000 and was nominated by the Board as the Senior Independent Director on 4 May 2005. Baroness Hogg who was appointed as a non-executive director on 27 January 2005 will assume the role of the Senior Independent Director with effect from 1 January 2009.
