BG Egypt has appointed a new President for the company, the oil and gas industry leader Khaled Kacem.

Khaled brings a wealth of experience to his new position at BG Egypt. His impressive career spans 23 years in the upstream and downstream Oil & Gas sector in Tunisia, Egypt and UK.

Khaled joined BG Group in 1998 and has held a number of technical, engineering, operations and management roles in Tunisia, UK and Egypt. Prior to his appointment as President, BG Egypt, Khaled occupied the position of General Manager and Managing Director of Rashid Petroleum Company (Rashpetco), the Joint Venture conducting operations on behalf of BG Egypt and its partners PETRONAS and Edison.

Khaled graduated from the Engineering University in Tunisia (ENIM) where he received his Master in Mechanical Engineering. He also earned a Diploma in Management from the Chartered Management Institute (CMI) in UK.

Khaled succeeds former BG Egypt President Arshad Sufi, who continues to be part of BG Group’s team in Egypt as Chairman of the company
