Bass Strait provides update on Windermere oil project

Bass Strait Oil Company

Bass Strait Oil Company Ltd has completed the Drill Stem Test of the lower Heathfield target reservoir in Windermere-3. The DST consisted of a 10 minute preflow, an initial shut in of 1hour followed by an extended flow of 2 hours and an extended shut in of 6 hours.

The 7.5 barrel water cushion and some rathole mud was reversed out of the drillstem.

No evidence of any hydrocarbon or formation water was detected in the DST indicating that the reservoir is too tight for commercial production.

The well will be plugged and abandoned.
