Baker Hughes Incorporated says that a major expansion of its clear brine fluids infrastructure with the completion of full-service completion fluids plants in Fourchon, Louisiana, and Galveston, Texas. With an operational capacity of over 89,000 barrels, these plants will immediately service operations in the Gulf of Mexico, and will provide the full range of capabilities and contingency requirements to service the most demanding completion operations.

Both facilities include significant storage for clear brine fluids, as well as efficient brine recycling processes and equipment, field brine laboratory capabilities, and specialty product tanks ideal for delivering pre-mixed additives such as wellbore displacement products. The facilities are operated in accordance with Baker Hughes’ Quality and Health, Safety and Environmental management systems. To complement the plant infrastructure, Baker Hughes has also invested in a fleet of high flow-capacity brine filtration equipment –an integral part of deploying all fluids services to operators in the Gulf of Mexico.
